Guided Setup

Let DualStream test your PC, connection and channels, then set up your studio in one click.

Guided setup gets to know your PC and your channels, tests what your machine can really stream, and sets up your studio for you. It opens on its own the first time you start DualStream with an empty studio.

Setup runs while you're not live or recording, because it measures your PC.

The Four Steps

1. Your Channels

Connect Twitch, YouTube and Kick. Setup shows each channel as it connects, including Twitch Partner or Affiliate status and Kick verification.

If live streaming is switched off on your YouTube channel, setup tells you right away and links to the switch. YouTube can take up to 24 hours to turn it on, so it's worth starting early.

2. Your PC and Connection

Setup reads your graphics card, encoders (H.264, HEVC and AV1), processor, memory, displays, cameras and microphones. It also asks Twitch exactly which quality tracks it wants for your channel, without going live.

With Premium, setup measures your upload too, so the plan fits your connection as well as your PC.

3. Fit Test

Setup runs every encode your stream would need at the same time for a few seconds, the same way a real stream does. Each candidate setup shows whether it Holds or Falls short, with the frame rate your PC reached and the reason when it falls short.

4. Your Setup

Setup recommends the best setup that holds and lists what it would change:

  • Your Desktop and Mobile canvases
  • Where Twitch goes: Desktop and Mobile, Desktop only, or off
  • YouTube and Kick
  • The Magic encoder profile
  • Your microphone and camera
  • Starter scenes: Stream Starting Soon, Be Right Back and Stream Ending Soon

Pick what you want and click Apply.

Run It Again

New graphics card or faster internet? Open Settings → General → Setup and click Run setup again to see what would change.

If you already had a studio when setup arrived, DualStream offers it once with a Tune your studio to this PC card. Click Run setup or Not now.
