Getting Started
System Requirements
Minimum and recommended specs for running DualStream.
Minimum Requirements
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 (64-bit) or later |
| CPU | Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or equivalent |
| RAM | 8 GB |
| GPU | DirectX 11 compatible with 2 GB VRAM |
| Storage | 500 MB available disk space |
| Internet | Broadband connection for streaming |
Recommended Specs
| Component | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 |
| CPU | Intel i7 / AMD Ryzen 7 or better |
| RAM | 16 GB or more |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1660 / RTX 3060 or better (NVENC support) |
| Storage | SSD with 2 GB+ available space |
| Internet | 20 Mbps+ upload speed |
Hardware Encoding
DualStream automatically detects and uses hardware encoders when available:
- NVENC — NVIDIA GPUs (GeForce GTX 600+ / RTX series)
- AMF — AMD GPUs (Radeon RX 400+ series)
- QuickSync — Intel CPUs with integrated graphics (6th gen+)
Hardware encoding offloads the work from your CPU, leaving more headroom for gaming and other tasks. If no hardware encoder is detected, DualStream falls back to x264 software encoding.
Network Recommendations
| Stream Quality | Recommended Upload Speed |
|---|---|
| 720p @ 30fps | 5 Mbps |
| 1080p @ 30fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p @ 60fps | 12 Mbps |
| Multistream (2 platforms) | 20 Mbps+ |
| Multistream (3+ platforms) | 30 Mbps+ |
For multistreaming, your upload bandwidth must support the combined bitrate of all active stream outputs simultaneously.
