Layers
Video Device
Add and configure webcams, capture cards, and virtual cameras as layer sources.
A Video Device layer provides a live video feed from a hardware or virtual input — webcam, capture card, or virtual camera.
Add a Video Device
- Open the Sources Panel on the left side of the viewport.
- Your connected cameras and capture cards appear in the list.
- Click a device to add it to the active scene.
DualStream detects connected devices automatically. If a new device is plugged in, click Refresh at the top of the Sources Panel.
Video Device Settings
Configure resolution and framerate per device:
- Select the Video Device layer.
- Open the Inspector Panel on the right.
- Click the settings icon to open the device configuration dialog.
Available options:
- Resolution — 1080p, 720p, etc.
- Framerate — 30 FPS, 60 FPS
These settings are global — changing them updates the device across all scenes.
Quick-Action Crop Toolbar
When a Video Device layer is selected, a toolbar appears above it with crop presets:
- Crop — Manual cropping with drag handles
- Square — Rounded square crop
- Circle — Circular crop
- Vertical — Portrait crop
- Reset Crop — Restore original dimensions
Troubleshooting

- Close any other app that might be using the camera exclusively.

- Try a different resolution in the device settings.
- Unplug and replug the device, then refresh.
