Portal Links

Let your viewers ask to join your stream by voice from their browser.

A Portal link is one address you post for your viewers, like dualstream.gg/portal/n7k2qxw4hmd8. Anyone who opens it signs in with a free DualStream account and asks to join your Portal by voice. You choose who comes on.

Hosting a Portal link needs Premium.

  1. Click Portal in the toolbar and open Add a Guest.
  2. Under Portal link, click Create Portal link.
  3. Click Copy Portal link and post it in chat, on Discord or in your bio.

You can also manage your link on the website at dualstream.gg/dashboard/portal.

  • On / Off stops or starts requests without changing the link.
  • New Portal link makes a fresh link. The old one stops working right away.

Answer Requests

When a viewer asks to join, DualStream Studio shows a notice with Add and Decline. Your Portal link guests are also listed at the top of Add a Guest and in Sources > Portal: guests on stream, and waiting guests with all four answers:

  • Add puts them on your stream with talkback.
  • Add muted adds them off air. You hear them, your stream doesn't, until you unmute them.
  • Decline ends their request.
  • Block ends it and stops that account asking again. Unblock all under your Portal link clears every block.

Talkback uses the mic picked under Send my audio back (so they can hear you) in Add a Guest.

For Your Guests

  1. Open the streamer's Portal link and sign in or sign up.
  2. Click Edit avatar to set an idle picture, a talking picture and a shape. The streamer's viewers see it while you're on.
  3. Click Join Portal and allow the microphone. Your mic goes to the streamer first. You're on stream once they add you.
  4. Keep the page open while you're on. Mute and Leave are on the page.

Removing a guest's layer takes them off your stream and back to your list, still connected. Add them again from there whenever you like, or Decline to end their call.

Guests join from a current version of Chrome, Edge or Safari. A free account gets 30 minutes per Portal, and Premium guests stay on for up to 6 hours.
